Volunteer Title: Digital Resource Preserve Assistant
Purpose of position: To update digital resources at St. Lucie County Preserves. Check kiosks for QR codes, determine if codes are effective. Measure exact dimensions of existing codes. Email results to Community Outreach Coordinator. Possibly creating new QR codes and placing them at preserve sites.
Required/desired qualifications: Ability to travel to various preserves, access to internet via digital device, good reporting and communication skills, attention to detail.
Task and duties: Use list of preserves to determine route, checking each kiosk, documenting use of QR code and accessibility, measure each code found, email in excel file to Community Outreach Coordinator.
Training requirements: New Volunteer Orientation
Monitoring: Regular check-in with Community Outreach Coordinator, documenting progress via digital spreadsheet
Time Commitment: 4-6 hours weekly
Time frame: Through end of July 2020
Scope of assignment: Staff & Volunteers will work individually or follow CDC guidelines when working together to update kiosks, brochures and website by the end of summer 2020. Updates will include new QR codes, maps, interpretive signage, etc.
