Explore Archery Program

Explore Archery is an innovative education program focused on introducing beginners of all ages and abilities to the lifelong sport of target archery.   USA Archery and the Archery Trade Association developed Explore Archery with the support of the Easton Foundations.  The Oxbow supports these organizations and the belief that Explore Archery can serve as a foundation for development of community-based archery recreation.

This program includes an outdoor classroom session and range time.  Please bring a bagged lunch or snack, water bottle, closed-toe shoes and appropriate clothing for Florida weather.  This program is appropriate for ages 10 & up, however participants under the age of 15 must have a legal guardian present. 

Cost is $20/person for anyone planning to participate on the range (shoot bows).

Open Range

Open Range will be offered on select Saturday afternoons for anyone who has previously taken Explore Archery at the Oxbow within the same season (October – March).  Open Range is designed to offer archery enthusiasts further opportunity to practice shooting and developing form and skills. Open Range will not have a classroom portion, but will continue to offer coaching and training from our team of USA Archery certified instructors.

Cost is $10/person, participants must have taken Explore Archery.

Archery Camps

Oxbow hosts archery summer camps as well as school-break camps throughout the year.  Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers are always developing new and inventive curriculum to grow a student’s skills, form, and interest in archery.  Dates, prices, and ages for camps will be posted on the Oxbow Events calendar as details are confirmed.

 

Join the Team, Become an Instructor

All Oxbow archery instructors are volunteers and complete the USA Archery Level 1 Archery Instructor Certification Course which is offered at the Oxbow Eco-Center on an as needed basis.  The cost of the course is $40 per person and must be renewed every three years.
