What is Beanstack?
Beanstack is an online and app-based tool you can use to keep track of how much time you and your children spend reading, and which books you've read.
Along with summer reading and other periodic challenges, accounts for children up to 5 years of age will see the "1,000 Books Before Kindergarten" challenge. Accounts for all ages can sign up for reading recommendations. A single account can track reading for an individual or for a whole family.
How do I sign up?
Use the app store for your phone or tablet to search for and install the "Beanstack Tracker" app from Zoobean, Inc. If you're on your Android phone now, click here to find the app--if you're on an iPhone, click here. After installing it, (1) click on "Find your School or Library," (2) in the libraries category search for "st. lucie" and (3) select "St. Lucie County Library System." Then click on "Don't Have an Account? Sign Up!" and enter a username and password of your choice.
Or on a computer you can also use the browser version at https://stlucieco.beanstack.org.
If you have trouble with registering staff will be happy to help.
What is 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten?
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a reading initiative to encourage you to read 1,000 books with your child before they enter kindergarten. It's one of the "challenges" in Beanstack, which makes it easy to record the books you read and track your progress. Please note that this challenge will appear only for readers whose age has been entered as zero to 5.
