St. Lucie County continues to expand economic development and long-term sustainability measures through its Business and Strategic Initiatives division. The Board of County Commissioners works hard to recruit new businesses and assist existing business to expand their operations. An advanced business incentives program provides options to assist companies in local job creation efforts including collaboration with other public and private entities involved in economic development.
St. Lucie County continues to pursue economic development through collaboration and partnerships with local educational institutions such as Indian State College, the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, the University of Florida, the United States Department of Agriculture, and the Smithsonian Marine Institute.
The St. Lucie County Incentive Program includes the following:
- Ad Valorem Tax Exemptions for St. Lucie County property taxes
- Job Growth Investment Grants (JGIG)
- Impact Fee Credit Agreements
- An expedited site plan and building permit process
The EDC/St. Lucie County partnership has perfected the implementation of these program incentives and will be happy to discuss how your new or expanding business may benefit. Our goal is to help you get your business up and running as quickly as possible. As we work to continue building a sound and resilient local economy, we welcome the opportunity to work with you to locate or expand your business in St. Lucie County!
