Aerial map of a city street and surrounding neighborhoods, printed on a large board and placed on display. Several areas of the map are highlighted with proposed features that could change along the roadway.

A display board at the April 9 public meeting shows some of the potential features being proposed.

Project Updates

St. Lucie County plans to remove the shared left-turn center lane between Airoso Boulevard and U.S. 1 and replace it with a raised median. This change will reduce the number of places where cars and pedestrians cross paths, which has been shown to lower the number of crashes. Adding landscaping and design features will also make the road feel narrower, encouraging drivers to slow down. Together, these improvements will make the street safer and better suited to the nearby residential neighborhood along Prima Vista Boulevard.
