The Engineering Division provides regulatory control in accordance with the land development code by issuance of the following Permits:

Right of Way Permit: Communications

If you are interested in performing utility work involving communications within County Right of Way, please complete this Communications Right-Of-Way Permit Application. As part of the permit application, please include the submittal checklist. 

Any installation of a utility that transmits data must be applied for through this permit. This includes the installation of fiber optic, micro wireless facilities, small wireless facilities, and any utility poles that must be installed to support these utilities. This permit is governed by SLC Code of Ordinances, Chapter 44 - Telecommunications (opens in new tab).

After filling out this application, please email it and all supporting documentation to Right.of.WayPermit@stlucieco.gov, to begin the application process.

Right of Way Permit: General

If you are interested in performing utility work within County Right of Way, please apply for a permit via the Self Service Portal. Typically, this permit is required for activities such as digging, installing, maintaining, storing materials, and blocking travel lanes or pedestrian pathways for facilities like electric lines, utility poles, gas lines, and water and wastewater systems. Any installation of a utility that transmits data must be applied for through the Right of Way: Communications Permit above.

Mining Permit

If you are interested in performing mining activities, please complete this Mining Permit Application. This permit is governed by SLC Land Development Code, Chapter VI, 6.06.00 (opens in new tab) and SLC Land Development Code, Chapter XI, 11.05.00 (opens in new tab).

Moving Permit

If you are interested in performing activities that warrant a moving permit, please complete this Application to Move Buildings or Equipment Over County Roads. This permit is governed by SLC Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Article II (opens in new tab).
