As part of the St. Lucie County Public Safety Department, the EMS section is primarily responsible for: the issuance of County Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) EMS providers; enforcing the St. Lucie County Life Support Services Ordinance No. 2021-032 and its accompanying rules and regulations; and inspecting all EMS providers’ vehicles and equipment annually.

The new COPCN application window is currently CLOSED.
