Lien Search and Payoff Request
Fast Facts About Code Enforcement Liens
If a property has a lien placed, it may be difficult to sell, refinance, or borrow against it.
Pursuant to Florida Statutes 162.09 (3), liens are recorded in the public records and therefore shall constitute a lien against the land on which the violation exists, and any other real or personal property owned by the violator.
No Code Enforcement lien shall continue for a period longer than 20 years.
Lien search results will report outstanding Code Enforcement issues, such as:
• Code violations
• Code Enforcement liens
• Citations
*Lien search results will not report issues beyond the Code Enforcement Department’s jurisdiction, such as open permits and utility bills, and payoff information is not included in lien search results. *
Payoff results will report outstanding fees and fines on specific Code Enforcement issues.
It is strongly recommended that you check the Public Records of St. Lucie County for more information, regardless of the lien search results. This and other offices may have items pending against this property. To perform a public record search online, visit the St. Lucie County Clerk of Courts Website.
