Swim Lesson Level Descriptions
Parent and Child Aquatics: 6 months – 3 years

Purpose |
Prerequisites |

For children to become familiarized and acclimated to the aquatic environment and to develop water safety awareness among parents and caregivers. Some skills that will be covered include blowing bubbles, kicking, and floating. |

Preschool Aquatics: 3 – 5 years

To familiarize students with the water, develop basic water skills, and begin to swim independently. Water safety is emphasized throughout all skill levels. Skills covered include: submersion, floating, and rudimentary swimming. |

Youth Learn-to-Swim: 6 – 17 years

Helps students develop positive attitudes, good swimming habits and safe practices around the water |

2 Fundamental Aquatics Skills |
Give students success with fundamental skills. |

3 Stroke Development |
Builds on skills from Level 2 & develops strokes through additional guided practice in deeper water |

|
4 Stroke Improvement |
Develops confidence and strength to improve skills learned and introduces new aquatic skills. |

|
5 Stroke Refinement |
Provides further coordination and refinement of strokes, swimming further distances |

Adult Swim: 18 years and up

Purpose

Prerequisites |
|
To help educate participants in the aquatic environment as well as teach them swimming strokes and safety skills. Instruction is individualized to the needs and goals of each participant. |
