The beaches of Hutchinson Island in Fort Pierce are proud to be one of the only places within the state of Florida that permit horseback riding on the beach! The beaches designated for this activity are secluded, rustic, and picturesque. It is the perfect opportunity for the family to embark on an unforgettable adventure or the ideal setting for a couple to solidify their commitment with a marriage proposal (many engagements take place here!). In addition, many other parks and preserves in St. Lucie have been equipped with equestrian trails and amenities to explore on horseback.

If you are interested in riding your horse or horses on the beach, you must purchase an annual or weekly riding permit. If you are visiting the area with your horses, the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds offers RV sites and horse stall rentals to make your stay affordable and convenient. A full-service RV site is just $25.00 per night, plus tax. A water and electric RV site is just $20 per night, plus tax. Horse stalls are available for $20 per night, plus tax.
