School and Group Programs

The Aquarium is currently open to school groups who are interested in a self-guided experience. Educators are currently not leading in-person school group programs. To reserve a date and time, please allow 30 days’ notice and contact SMSEducation@si.edu with information about your group size, age, and preferred dates and times. Please note that only twenty-five individuals (students and teachers/chaperones) are permitted inside the building at the same time, so please plan the length of your visit accordingly. Group sizes larger than twenty-five can be accommodated with student rotations.

Virtual Field Trips are also offered by the Aquarium and can be scheduled by contacting the Education Team at SMSEducation@si.edu. Each Virtual Field Trip experience lasts around 30 minutes and are aligned to Florida State Standards.

Rates for Standard Education Program (1 hr.)

 

 

Rates for Seining Program (2 hrs.)

(Seining program includes education program at the aquarium or self-guided tour)

 

 

One chaperone or teacher per 25 students is free. All others must pay applicable rate.
