Two miles of trail through mangrove swamp and hammock on the Indian River Lagoon.

Wildcat Cove spans 114 acres and is overseen by the Mosquito Control District. The trail along the impoundment dike winds through lush mangrove swamps and stunning hammocks by the Indian River Lagoon. This location is highly favored for both fishing and birdwatching. Along the route, you'll find multiple piers where you can cast your line or just take in the beautiful scenery.

Trail and Habitat

Trail
Easy. A self-guided interpretive trail that spans a little over 2 miles roundtrip. Part of the trail connects to Pepper Park, which extends the walk by another 1/2 mile one way.
Habitat
Mangrove swamp mosquito impoundment.
Commonly seen wildlife
Brown pelican, red-bellied woodpecker, fiddler crab, tri-colored heron, and white ibis.
