Indian Hills Recreation Area

Sixty-five acres of trails, pavilions, disc golf, and paddling access managed by the City of Fort Pierce.

Managed by the City of Fort Pierce, this 65-acre space offers a variety of recreational activities for everyone to enjoy. To the south, you can find a spacious picnic gazebo, a nature trail, a canoe launch, areas for wildlife observation, and access to fishing. Meanwhile, the northern section features multiple picnic pavilions and benches, a nature and fitness trail, a disc golf course, and educational signage.

See bald cypress, Carolina willow, various grass and oaks species, slash pine, cabbage palm and sea grape along the trail

Great blue heron, tri-colored heron, alligator, black-bellied whistling duck, eastern box turtle

Historical Interest

The finished stormwater project offers treatment for a 1,242-acre watershed consisting of urban and commercially developed areas, enhancing the water quality of stormwater runoff that flows into the Indian River Lagoon.

Before You Go

We invite you to enjoy this segment of the Shared-Use Nonmotorized (SUN) Trail. Stretching from just south of Savannah Road to Indian Hills Drive, this 10-foot wide multi-use trail spans 1.4 miles and enhances user access as well as trail connectivity within the Indian Hills Recreation Area.
