MOBILE VISITOR CENTER

Lucie is Visit St. Lucie’s Mobile Visitor Center — a fully branded, on-the-go visitor experience that brings travel inspiration directly to events, festivals, beaches, and community gatherings throughout the destination and beyond. Outfitted with travel guides, interactive trip-planning tools, and local recommendations, Lucie helps visitors discover what to see, where to stay, and how to make the most of their time in St. Lucie. Event organizers may apply to have Lucie attend their event, subject to availability and in accordance with our Mobile Visitor Center policy.

FOR RESIDENTS

The St. Lucie County Tourism Division "Visit St. Lucie" is the County's official destination marketing organization. The division is comprised of three full-time staff members who are responsible for the development, planning and implementation of all aspects of tourism-related work in coordination with the Board of County Commissioners and the Tourist Development Council's (TDC) goals and objectives.

The division's mission is: "To market St. Lucie County and its cities as a destination and to promote activities that will generate new or repeat visitors, thereby creating a positive economic impact for St. Lucie County."

The division develops, plans, organizes, and oversees tourism marketing programs; develops and administers marketing strategies and programs; conducts market research; promotes the County's tourism assets, programs, events, and resources; and monitors and maintains the tourism budget. Staff actively participates in industry membership events, maintains communication and effective relationships with the media, public officials, partner municipalities, the local and state hospitality industry and the general public. The division is also focused on communicating the economic value of tourism to the community through its education and outreach programs geared to the local residents, stakeholders, and business owners of St. Lucie County.

St. Lucie County's Tourist Development Council (TDC) is represented by local elected officials, hospitality professionals and tourism-related community members. The TDC serves as an advisory committee to the St. Lucie County's Board of County Commissioners. The TDC appointed seats are comprised of three elected officials, three representatives from accommodations collecting the tourist tax, and three representatives from tourism-related industries, as directed by Florida Statutes 125.0104 and County Ordinance, Chapter 42, Article IV, Sections 125-146.

St. Lucie County has a 5 percent tourist tax collected on accommodations rented for six months or less. The collections are allocated in the following manner:

  • First & Second Cents: Operation and maintenance of St. Lucie County's Sports Complex (Clover Park).
  • Third Cent: Promote Tourism (marketing efforts performed by Visit St. Lucie).
  • Fourth Cent: Pay debt service on bonds used to finance the reconstruction and renovation of the St. Lucie County Sports Complex (Clover Park).
  • Fifth Cent: 67 percent of the 5th cent tax is allocated to pay debt service on bonds issued to finance the renovation and reconstruction of the St. Lucie County Sports Complex (Clover Park). The remaining 33 percent of the 5th cent tax is allocated for capital facilities that promote tourism located north of Midway Road including the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds.

The TDC meets on the second Wednesday of every other month in Conference Room 3 of the Roger Poitras Administration Building, 2300 Virginia Ave., Fort Pierce. For 2026, the dates are:

  • Feb. 11 at 10 a.m.
  • Apr. 8 at 10 a.m.
  • Jun. 10 at 10 a.m.
  • Aug. 12 at 10 a.m.
  • Oct. 14 at 10 a.m.
  • Dec. 9 at 10 a.m.
