Events and Awards
A recap of the 5th Annual Culinary Cook-off Challenge at the Sunshine Kitchen. The Treasure Coast Education and Research Development Authority hosts the annual contest, which brings together budding chefs from Indian River State College and St. Lucie County Public Schools to compete across plate appearance, taste and flavor, teamwork, and several other categories. Two $1,500 scholarships, funded by the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners, are awarded at the finale to support students' educational journeys.
The Florida Small Business Development Center at Indian River State College presented its 2025 Annual Award to the Sunshine Kitchen at the September 16, 2025 St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners meeting, recognizing the kitchen's impact on local food entrepreneurs.
