Cook-offs, classes, and the moments where the kitchen community comes together.
The Sunshine Kitchen hosts a steady mix of events throughout the year. Some are open to the public, like our annual Culinary Cook-off Competition. Others serve our member businesses directly, with ServeSafe Manager certification classes, Profit Mastery business workshops, and hands-on programs led by our partners at UF/IFAS Cooperative Extension and the Florida SBDC at IRSC.
The calendar also includes Kids Cooking Classes with Chef Daniel Cedeno, member showcases, and tastings where Sunshine Kitchen tenants share what they're building. Most events take place right here at the kitchen, so anyone attending can see the space that's powering more than 100 local food businesses.
Members who want to host a class, demo, or tasting in the space can contact Manager Regina McCants to coordinate a date and get the event added to the calendar below.
A recap of the 5th Annual Culinary Cook-off Challenge at the Sunshine Kitchen. The Treasure Coast Education and Research Development Authority hosts the annual contest, which brings together budding chefs from Indian River State College and St. Lucie County Public Schools to compete across plate appearance, taste and flavor, teamwork, and several other categories. Two $1,500 scholarships, funded by the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners, are awarded at the finale to support students' educational journeys.
