County Administrator George Landry

George Landry is the County Administrator for the St. Lucie Board of County Commissioners. Landry has extensive experience in operational leadership and business development in local government.

Prior to becoming County Administrator, Landry served as Public Utilities and Solid Waste Director for St. Lucie County. He was responsible for the enterprise-wide strategy and execution of utility and solid waste operations, including planning, organizing, and budgeting water, wastewater, solid waste, and recycling services.

Before serving as the Public Utilities and Solid Waste Director, Landry served as St. Lucie County's Human Resources and Risk Manager, responsible for administering the general liability plan, managing comprehensive loss control, and restructuring the self-insurance health plan.

After twenty years of service, he retired from the United States Army, earning two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.

Landry earned a bachelor's and master's degree in Business Administration from Columbia Southern University.


Deputy County Administrator Mayté Santamaria

Mayté Santamaria is the Deputy County Administrator for the St. Lucie Board of County Commissioners. Mayté has extensive experience supervising operations and significant projects in a leadership role. Mayté has been in public service for nearly 20 years, working in both State and Local Government. Most of her roles have revolved around intergovernmental affairs, comprehensive planning, strategic policy development, legislative and rule analysis, and working with local governments to establish community visions, identify community needs, and address land use and growth management strategies to achieve the desired outcome for the locale.

Prior to becoming Deputy County Administrator, Mayté served as Planning and Development Services Director for the St. Lucie Board of County Commissioners. She has extensive experience in urban planning, land development, affordable housing, coastal management, floodplain management, building code compliance, and environmental regulation in government organizations.

Before becoming Planning and Development Services Director, Mayté served as Monroe County's Senior Planning Policy Adviser, responsible for responding to environmental, planning, and growth management/acquisition policy and regulation requests, reviewing the Comprehensive Plan/Land Development Code amendments and managing the Florida Keys Area of Critical State Concern work program, reporting to the Governor and Cabinet, sitting as the Administration Commission. Previously, she served as Assistant Director of Planning and Development for the St. Lucie Board of County Commissioners and the Senior Director of Planning & Environmental Resources for Monroe County Board of County Commissioners.

Mayté earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and a master's degree in Science in Management from the University of Florida.


Deputy County Administrator Tom Carrino

Tom Carrino is a Deputy County Administrator for the St. Lucie Board of County Commissioners.  He has worked in local government for 24 years.

Before coming to St. Lucie County, Tom served as the City Manager for the City of Eustis, Fla.  Prior to being City Manager, he was an economic development professional for the City of Eustis, the City of Urbana, IL, and the City of Cocoa, Fla.

Tom earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Central Florida.  He was formerly a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) and a Certified Planner (AICP).  Tom is married and has two sons.
