Moving Families Beyond Poverty

The Minor Auto Repair Program offers income-eligible households with small repairs such as batteries, tires, water hoses, brakes, engine belts, etc. Repairs must be needed to maintain employment, secondary education/training and/or for ongoing health care (routine appointments not eligible). Proof of ownership and auto insurance are required. Additional documentation is required for households with more than one vehicle. Assistance based on available funding. Other verifying documentation may be required.

Applicants must:

  • Live in St. Lucie County.
  • Complete an intake application to confirm eligibility.
  • Be able to provide documentation of need: work and/or school schedule, ongoing medical issues, household bills, etc.

Income eligibility is based on household size. A household is defined as an individual or group of individuals living together as one economic unit, regardless of relation.

Income limits are subject to change based on HHS's current poverty guidelines.
