St. Lucie County Human Services connects residents to programs that build economic stability, provide emergency assistance, and open the door to social support. The division administers federal and state funded programs with a focus on accountability, measurable results, and careful stewardship of public money. By improving access to case management, financial assistance, and referrals, Human Services strengthens community health and safety and helps residents move toward self-sufficiency.
Many residents start with Comprehensive Case Management, where a caseworker reviews each household's situation and builds a plan toward stability, and with Information and Referrals that point people to the right county program or community partner. Human Services also administers the Health Care Responsibility Act (HCRA), a state program that helps cover qualifying hospital costs for eligible low-income county residents. These services run alongside the programs below and are arranged through a caseworker.
Our mission: help St. Lucie County residents reach self-sufficiency in a dignified, cost-effective way. Services are offered when funds are available.

Treasure Coast Community Action Agency
The Treasure Coast Community Action Agency is an advisory board that oversees the Community Services Block Grant and is committed to building self-sufficient individuals and families by providing services in response to challenges of diverse communities.
Community Needs Assessment Survey
A community needs assessment identifies the strengths and resources available in the community to meet the needs of children, youth, and families. The assessment focuses on the capabilities of the community, including its citizens, agencies, and organizations.
