Housing Repair Assistance Program

St. Lucie County is accepting applications for the Housing Rehabilitation Program funded through the FY 2025–2026 State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) Program. This program is designed to assist income-eligible homeowners in unincorporated St. Lucie County by funding necessary repairs that correct code violations, eliminate health and safety hazards, and improve the overall livability of the home.

Applications will be available beginning May 18, 2026 and must be submitted by May 22, 2026, or until the maximum number of completed applications has been received, whichever occurs first.

Assistance is intended to preserve existing housing and help homeowners maintain safe and stable living conditions.

Please note that manufactured housing is not eligible for this program.

Eligible Repairs May Include

  • Roof repair or full replacement
  • HVAC (heating and cooling) system repair or replacement
  • Septic system repair or replacement

Repairs are limited to those necessary to address major system failures or deficiencies that impact the health, safety, and welfare of the occupants.
