Homeowner Assistance Program (HAP)

Limited funding is currently available for qualified residents of unincorporated St. Lucie County. If you are unsure if you reside in unincorporated St. Lucie County, please visit the Know Your Jurisdiction web map. If the St. Lucie County logo below appears, you do reside in unincorporated St. Lucie County. Residents of the City of Port Saint Lucie or City of Fort Pierce are not eligible to apply.
To be eligible for assistance, a household must have experienced a documented financial hardship within the preceding six (6) months and must demonstrate the ability to maintain payments after receiving assistance.
The maximum amount of assistance available is $6,000.00, which may be utilized for mortgage payments, escrow payments, homeowners association dues, and/or homeowners/flood insurance. This program is specifically designed for homeowners in unincorporated St. Lucie County. Residents who are 60 years of age or older, households with a member who has a disability*, or one parent households with children or adult dependents.

Applicants requiring assistance with computer access, or with the scanning and uploading of required documents, may schedule an appointment with a program specialist at St. Lucie County Community Services, located within the Family Success Center at 714 Avenue C, 2nd Floor, Fort Pierce, FL. Appointments can be arranged by calling (772) 462-1777.

*Disabled Household: A household that includes a person with a physical or mental impairment significantly limiting one or more major life activities, such as: caring for oneself, walking, hearing, learning, working, speaking, seeing, breathing, and performing manual tasks.
