Most records received and maintained by the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners are public records, and are subject to inspection unless an exemption applies pursuant to Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, the Florida Public Records Law (119.07, FS).

Note that the County is allowed to charge a fee to furnish a copy of the record. Standard copies are 15 cents single-sided and 20 cents double-sided. If the request requires extensive use of information technology resources and/or extensive clerical or supervisory assistance a special service charge based on the cost incurred will apply. In most circumstances, the Public Information Officer will notify requesters within 5 - 7 business days after receiving a request of any fees required.
