St. Lucie County's Communications Division is always looking for ways to reach residents and visitors, whether it is through our websites, government access channel (SLCTV Comcast 28 / U-Verse 99), social media, mobile apps or traditional media outlets such as newspapers and television stations.

St. Lucie County Offers Second Chance Financial Educational Assistance at IRSC

If you have been denied financial aid, St. Lucie County’s Community Services Department’s Second Chance program may be able to help. This program is available to St. Lucie County residents who are in need of 10 classes or less to either graduate or to reinstate their financial aid.

Applicants must meet Florida residency requirements as established by Indian River State College. All applicants must have applied and been denied financial aid. Income eligibility is based on household size and must be at or below 125 percent of the Federal Poverty Level. A household is defined as all individuals residing at the same address. Income guidelines below:

Registration for spring classes is now open. Classes start Wednesday, Jan. 8. All inquiries for assistance must be made before Thursday, Dec. 26. This program is supported by the Department of Economic Opportunity of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as part of an award totaling $317,546. Assistance is based on available funding. Other restrictions apply.
