St. Lucie County is Mobile & Social 

St. Lucie County's Communications Division is always looking for ways to reach residents and visitors, whether it is through our websites, government access channel (SLCTV Comcast 28 / U-Verse 99), social media, mobile apps or traditional media outlets such as newspapers and television stations.

Hurston Branch Library Hosts ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ Nov. 30

The Zora Neale Hurston Branch Library gets fast and furious on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 2 p.m. with the Movie Matinee showing of “Hobbs & Shaw.” 

Featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, this “Fast & Furious” film focuses on lawman Luke Hobbs and outcast Deckard Shaw as they form an unlikely alliance when a cyber-genetically enhanced villain threatens the future of humanity. The film is rated PG-13 with a running time of 137 minutes. Anyone under the age of 13 wishing to watch the film, must have a permission slipped signed by a parent or guardian. 

Other family activities for include:

  • Storytime Jam on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.
  • Legos at the Library on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.
  • S.T.E.A.M. Power! provides fun, hands-on creative activities including games, projects, experiments and more on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m.
  • Contraption Faction gets “techie” on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. Designed for boys and girls in grade 4 and higher, this program focuses on building games, gadgets and robotics.
  • The library’s Holiday Craft Time features a Thanksgiving-themed craft that you can make and take home on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. Best suited for students in grades 2 and up.
