New Escape Room Adventure Coming to the Aquarium
Escape rooms are an exciting group activity that test your problem-solving and deduction skills in a fun, friendly environment – and now you can help solve a marine mystery with the St Lucie County Aquarium’s very first escape room program, Escape the Aquarium, on Wednesday, Oct. 30 with three session at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.
Using clues placed around the aquarium, participants will solve a mystery surrounding a coral reef in Florida, and secure their own escape before it’s too late. This program is best for ages 7 and older. Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $5 for children (aquarium members pay just $5 for adults and $4 for children) and the program lasts for approximately 45 minutes. Registration is required. The popular program “Aquarium After Dark” returns for two dates on Friday, Nov. 8 and Friday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. Join Smithsonian educators for a fantastic evening of discovery as you explore our darkened aquariums with special flashlights and view the nocturnal animals and fluorescent corals. Learn about this incredible nighttime world that most don’t get to see. A pizza dinner is included in the ticket price, so you can make an evening of it. This great family program is $12 for adults and $10 for children (aquarium members pay just $10 for adults and $8 for children). Registration is required. The Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit is located in the St. Lucie County Aquarium at 420 Seaway Drive on South Hutchinson Island in Fort Pierce. The Smithsonian Marine Station has teamed with St. Lucie County and other community partners to create this unique educational facility. The Exhibit is an outreach effort of the Smithsonian Marine Station, a branch of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History. A fixture in the Fort Pierce community for more than 45 years, the Marine Station is dedicated to understanding the character and diversity of the marine and estuarine habitats of Florida.
