Lewis Library’s ArtSpace Features Two Local Artists July 2 – Sept. 28

Post Date:07/02/2019 8:06 AM

The Paula A. Lewis Branch Library ArtSpace program featuring two local residents. Works by Elaine Pribish and Phred Madsen-Valle will be on display inside the library July 2 – Sept. 28.

Pribish was born and raised in Pennsylvania and moved to Florida after retiring in 2005. In 2015, she found a book on painting, picked up some paint, paper, brush and started to paint. Painting brings her personal enjoyment and relaxation, especially when painting her favorite subjects such as birds, trees and landscapes. Her hope is that her paintings will translate that experience to those who view the artwork. Being a self-taught artist, Pribish seems to learn new things each time she picks up a paint brush.

A New York State native and 16-year, full-time resident of Port St. Lucie, Madsen-Vallee creates art as a passionate hobby. Madsen-Vallee considers himself a self-taught amateur who feels an instinctive desire to express himself creatively via pencil, pen and paint. Having drawn since a child in Troy, N.Y., he creates images conjured from his imagination and executes them in various mediums.

Residents interested in displaying their artwork as part of the library’s non-commercial ArtSpace area should contact Kasha Barska at 772-871-5482 or barskak@stlucieco.org.This is not a commercial venue. Artwork is displayed for enjoyment purposes only.

The Paula A. Lewis Library is located at 2950 SW Rosser Blvd. in Port St. Lucie. For more information about library events visit: www.stlucieco.gov/library.
