St. Lucie County Hosts Program for Public Information Working Group (a Sub-Committee of the LMS Working Group) Meeting June 27

St. Lucie County’s Division of Emergency Management will host the Program for Public Information (PPI) Working Group’s meeting on Thursday, June 27 at 10:30 a.m. This meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Douglas M. Anderson Emergency Operations Center, 15305 W Midway Road.

A sub-committee of the Local Mitigation Strategy Group. The PPI Working Group is comprised of county, municipal, and community partners that prepare and promote local strategies and outreach events to educate, inform and communicate to the public on flood mitigation, flood awareness, flood insurance and flood safety. The PPI is a part of the Community Rating System (CRS), a program under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), which in conjunction with its citizens and local governments engage in initiatives to lower the communities flood insurance rates. Topics will include membership of the PPI committee, private sector representation, and the working group’s mission and vision. Public attendance and comments are welcomed and encouraged.
