The Paula A. Lewis Branch Library launches its ArtSpace program featuring two local residents. Works by Sharon MCuen and Linda Relis is on display inside the library now through March 30.

McCuen resides in Selinsgrove, PA, as well as Port St. Lucie. She is a working artist with a Master of Fine Arts degree from Penn State University.  As an artist, she has shown her work in one-woman shows, juried shows, galleries and group exhibitions. Her artwork is primarily watercolor and acrylic painting as well as printmaking, focused on water-based monotypes and monoprints. McCuen is often inspired by nature and the beauty of life in her surroundings.

Relis attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City and The New York School of Interior Design as well as taking numerous workshops from some of the leading artists across the country. Her work has been exhibited throughout the U.S. and is in many private and corporate collections including the Permanent Collection of The State of Florida's Public Art Collection. Her most memorable achievement was being selected to create a Christmas ornament for President George W. Bush's 2002 White House Christmas tree.
