Garden of Lights is Heathcote’s five acres of gardens illuminated with thousands of lights handcrafted into colorful seasonal and whimsical garden displays.Refreshments, s’mores (the Garden’s favorite), music and special appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus fill the bill for an annual holiday tradition. Children enjoy searching for all the critters scattered throughout the Gardens (most illuminated and a few live)! Kick-off the holiday season Dec. 1 at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center from 2 to 10 p.m. for the Festival of Lights. Sample local fare and do some holiday shopping with arts and craft vendors. This popular annual event will feature live music at 8 p.m. by Atlantic City Boys. The Annual Holiday Tree Lighting in Tradition Square on Nov. 23 is a perfect way to spend the evening with family and friends. Main Street Fort Pierce has a day full of family-friendly activities planned for Dec. 2, starting at 1 p.m. Enjoy entertainment by local dance groups, food vendors, arts and crafts, a kids’ zone and the much anticipated parade at 4 p.m. Immediately following the parade is the Holiday Christmas Tree lighting. Have fun at the…St. Lucie County Christmas and Winter Boat Parade
Bring the family out on Dec. 8 to enjoy a parade of boats decorated for the holiday season. The parade begins near Harbortown Marina at 6:30 p.m., proceeds past South Beach Causeway, turning around at the Fort Pierce Inlet and will end at the Fort Pierce City Marina.
