St. Lucie County Tourism Seeking Local Experts for Blog Page
The St. Lucie County Tourism Office is looking for local residents to serve as official contributors to the county’s tourism blog page.
The blog will put the selected locals on the forefront of who will be able to tell their stories and share their experiences through articles, photos and videos on what they love to see and do in St. Lucie. The selected bloggers will be compensated for their work and credited in all postings.
Blog topics will range from adventurous to educational and appeal to the various demographics of visitors that come to St. Lucie County. The tourism office will post the stories on its website and also share the content through its social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
“We know that our locals are the greatest storytellers and in today’s digital space, it’s about sharing your experience and your story. This is the perfect opportunity for a passionate local resident that loves our county to go out and explore, tell a great story and be published.” stated Charlotte Bireley, director of Tourism and Marketing for St. Lucie County.
By sharing these experiences and stories created by locals, tourism officials are hopeful that the postings will make positive impacts on the destination’s exposure and engagement on social media and its other digital platforms.Some specific qualifications are required and past experience is a plus, but the minimum requirements are:
- Must be at least 18 years old,
- Must be a St. Lucie County resident,
- Must not be related to a County Commissioner, county employee or another county committee member.
St. Lucie County Tourism (Visit St. Lucie) is the official tourism marketing division for St. Lucie County. The division is responsible for developing and implementing plans and strategies with State and local partners that will increase and sustain tourism for the community. The division is funded by the County’s tourist tax (bed tax) that is collected on accommodations rented for six months or less. The Tourist Development Council, an appointed group of hospitality professionals and tourism-related community members, serve as an advisory board to the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners.
