ST. LUCIE COUNTY – For the third consecutive year, St. Lucie County has been recognized by the National Association of Counties (NACo) for innovative programs through its 2026 Achievement Award program, which honors effective county government programs that strengthen services for residents.

The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners was recognized for the following programs:

• Parks & Recreation’s Trunk or Treat and Tunnel of Terror annual event at the Havert L. Fenn Center
• Public Works’ Culvert Assistance Program, which provides affordable financing for residential properties to replace damaged culverts under their driveways. For more details visit the Culvert Assistance Program webpage.

Since 2008, St. Lucie County has received 38 NACo Achievement Awards for its various programs and services.

Each year, NACo’s Achievement Awards recognize outstanding programming in 18 categories aligned with the vast, comprehensive services counties provide. The categories include children and youth, criminal justice and public safety, libraries, management, information technology, health, civic engagement and more. Launched in 1970, the program is designed to celebrate innovation in county government. Each nominated program is judged on its own merits and not against other applications.
