St. Lucie County Libraries Offer Youth and Teen Activities

ST. LUCIE COUNTY – St. Lucie County’s libraries offer a variety of programs for the entire family from scavenger hunts to bilingual storytimes.
May events for children and families:
- Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Can you find all the clues? Explore the library and find hidden items to win a small prize. Fun for all ages.
- S.T.E.A.M. Power! Explore the world of science, technology, engineering, art and math in fun ways. Learn about weather, rainbows, color, motion and more. Best suited for ages 5-11.
- Wednesday, May 6 at 4:30 p.m. at the Hurston Branch
- Wednesday, May 6 at 4:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch
- Saturday, May 9 at 2:30 p.m. at Morningside Branch
- Thursday, May 28 at 5 p.m. at Lewis Branch
- LEGOs and More: Children are invited to build and create with LEGOs and other building toys, encouraging fine motor skills and creative thinking.
- Saturday, May 2 & 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch
- Saturday, May 16 at 2:30 p.m. at the Morningside Branch.
- Kids Crafternoon: Join us for a creative afternoon of crafting. All supplies are provided. Best suited for kids ages 5 and older.
- Saturday, May 2 at 2:30 p.m. at the Morningside Branch.
- Tuesday, May 5 at 5 p.m. at the Lewis Branch
- Pajama Tales on Wednesday, May 6 from 6 to 6:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch. Join the library staff in your pajamas for this nighttime edition of storytime. The whole family is invited to this storytime that encourages the development of pre-reading skills through songs, rhymes, fingerplays and stories. Best suited for children as old as 5 years.
- Family Game Night on Thursday, May 14 at 5 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Bring the whole family for an evening of classic and modern board games. A great way to socialize and learn new strategies.
- Baby & Me Storytime on Saturday, May 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the Morningside Branch. Best suited for infants up to 18 months.
- Gaming with the Switch 2 on Saturday, May 16 at 3 p.m. at the Hurston Branch. Explore the world of Mario Kart and more on the newest console. Fun, social gaming for kids.
- LEGO Fun at the Library on Tuesday, May 19 at 5 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. A dedicated time for elementary-aged students to build, create, and share their LEGO masterpieces.
- Ballet Bilingual Storytime on Thursday, May 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lewis Branch. With Tutu Ballet School. Through stories, songs, ballet and dance, little ones will explore movement. Best suited for ages 18 months to 5 years. No experience or equipment is necessary. Presented in English and Spanish.
- Ballet Story Time Jam on Friday, May 29 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lewis Branch. With Tutu Ballet School. Through stories, songs, ballet and dance, little ones will explore movement. Best suited for ages 18 months – 5 years. No experience or equipment is necessary.
Tweens & Teens (Ages 11-18):
- Tween Crafternoon on Saturday, May 2 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch. Middle schoolers are invited to create unique art projects using various media. All supplies provided. Best suited for ages 8 and older.
- Come Through and Chill on Thursday, May 7, 21 & 28 at 4:30 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. A casual space for teens to hang out, listen to music and work on crafts or homework.
- Anime Multimedia Club on Thursday, May 14 at 4:15 p.m. at the Morningside Branch. Join fellow fans to discuss anime and manga while watching clips and sharing art. Best suited for ages 11 and older.
- Teen Coding Club on Thursday, May 14 at 4:30 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Learn the fundamentals of coding and work on digital projects in a collaborative and social environment.
- Teen Gaming Tournament on Saturday, May 16 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch. Compete against other teens for prizes and bragging rights in our monthly Nintendo Switch tournament.
- Teen/Tween Crafternoon on Tuesday, May 19 at 4:15 p.m. at the Morningside Branch. A creative workshop tailored for the interests of middle and high school students.
- Teen Writing Hour on Saturday, May 23 at 2 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. An introductory program meant to help young writers understand the basics of writing and help them build the skills necessary to hone their craft and creativity.
Weekly programs: The library also hosts recurring weekly sessions, including Family Storytime, Baby & Me, Storytime Jam, Bilingual Storytime Jam, Music & Motion for Kids, Pre-school Storybook Craft, and Tales & Play. - The Port St. Lucie Branch is currently closed for renovations.
