Each week, St. Lucie County updates a log of road closures so that you're aware if your commute may be impacted. Closures this week include:
Johnston Road at Canals 16 & 17 (North of Meadowood)
- Closure Type: Temporary closure at Fort Pierce Farms Water Control District (FPFWCD) Canals 16 and 17
- Start Date: 3/30/2026
- End Date: 6/30/2026
- Time: 24 hours/day
- Reason for Closure: Culvert repairs
- Details: A portion of Johnston Road, at Fort Pierce Farms Water Control District (FPFWCD) Canals 16 and 17, will be closed beginning March 30, 2026, to replace both of the failing drainage culvert pipes beneath the roadway. The road is expected to remain closed for approximately three (3) months while work at both culvert locations is underway.

Indian River County - 43rd Avenue SW (Johnston Road) at Indian River County Line
- Closure Type: Temporary closure between Indian River County Line and 17th Street Southwest
- Start Date: 3/30/2026
- End Date: 4/17/2026
- Time: 24 hours/day
- Reason for Closure: Milling and resurfacing
- Details: A portion of 43rd Avenue Southwest in Indian River County, which becomes Johnston Road in St. Lucie County, is scheduled to close temporarily beginning March 30 for milling and resurfacing. The effected area is between the County Line and 17th Street Southwest in Indian River County. It is expected to reopen on or before April 17.
Port St. Lucie - Floresta Drive
- Closure Type: Fully closed from SE Fallon Drive to just north of Evergreen Terrace
- Start Date: 7/7/2025
- End Date: Ongoing
- Time: 24 hours/day
- Reason for Closure: Drainage work
- Details: Floresta Drive is fully closed from SE Greenway Terrace to just north of Evergreen Terrace to allow construction crews to install key components of the area’s storm drainage system. This is part of Phase 3 of the Floresta Drive Improvement Project.

Old Dixie Highway Bridge over Taylor Creek
- Closure Type: Full road closure
- Time: 24 hours/day
- Details: Old Dixie Highway Bridge over Taylor Creek, approximately 1/4 mile south of State Road A1A, remains closed to the public.
