Residents Reminded that the Docks at Museum Pointe Park are Closed
SOUTH HUTCHINSON ISLAND – Visitors to St. Lucie County's Museum Pointe Park, located at the foot of the Causeway Bridge, are reminded that the county's T and L docks are currently closed to the public due to ongoing safety concerns.
Storm impacts, as well as wear and tear on the docks, have resulted in the complete degradation of the supporting structural members. As a result, the county permanently closed the docks to residents and visitors in late 2023 to ensure public safety. Removal of the docks has not yet occurred to ensure re-permitting of the temporary berthing structures and to avoid creating navigation hazards from the pilings.
Since being closed, St. Lucie County has begun a process to review existing park amenities, including the dilapidated docking structures, to envision future improvements.
The pre-design/conceptual efforts currently underway hope to outline possible site improvements that are consistent with the county’s adopted Strategic Plan. The conclusion of the effort will provide St. Lucie County’s Board of County Commissioners with redevelopment ideas and conceptual plans for possible consideration.
Information about all county parks and facility closures can be found online at the St. Lucie County Parks & Recreation Closures webpage.
