- Saturday, March 21 – Ecosystem Engineers: The Gopher Tortoise Walk at Gordy Road Recreation Area (9:00am-11:00am) - Considered the "Landlord of the Uplands", the mighty gopher tortoise creates burrows that help species survive Florida's harsh conditions. We will discuss how they build their burrows, and why other wild species might use them. Get your hard hats on to investigating this earth moving reptile!
