Walking Trees and Changing Seas Hike at DJ Wilcox Preserve

Take a moment for yourself this fall and go exploring! Join an experienced guide, get outside and enjoy the natural wonders of St. Lucie County with the Environmental Resources Department's award-winning Guided Nature Program series. With over 11,000 acres of protected land in the county, there are plenty of opportunities to hit the trails. Whether it’s your first time joining the program, or your 100th time, there’s always something exciting to discover on St. Lucie County Preserves!

  • Saturday, Oct 11 – Walking Trees and Changing Seas Hike at DJ Wilcox Preserve (8:00am-9:30am) - Come along and learn about some of our most important native plants:  Mangroves. How do they grow in saltwater? How many species do we have in Florida? Why are they incredibly important for humans? If you’re curious about the answers to these questions and more, join in on the fun and sign up!

ERD Guided Nature Program hikes are FREE, reservations are required, and space is limited. GNP season now runs from September through June.
