There are many research efforts and advanced technologies to help scientists understand life in the sea. However, most of the data is not integrated which hinders our ability to see the whole picture. Dr. Mitch Roffer will talk about how scientists at the University of South Florida and the Smithsonian are working with NOAA, NASA and other agencies to create the Marine Biodiversity Observation Network to better understand how the ocean is changing and support better ocean management.
