Summer is ending, but that doesn’t mean the fun needs to! Join an experienced guide, get outside and enjoy the natural wonders of St. Lucie County with the Environmental Resources Department's award-winning Guided Nature Program series. With over 11,000 acres of protected land in the county, there are plenty of opportunities to hit the trails. Whether it’s your first time joining the program, or your 100th time, there’s always something exciting to discover on St. Lucie County Preserves!
- Saturday, Sept 12 – Nomenclature Nonsense Walk at Donald B. Moore Preserve (9:00am-10:30am) - Nature is funny, sometimes! Certain species of plants and animals have the wildest names. Come learn about these oddballs and how their names originated as we walk one mile of beautiful nature preserve. Great for trivia knowledge enthusiasts!
