Walton Road Widening

The Walton Road Widening Project extends from Village Green Drive to Lennard Road.
This project will include construction of a new four lane divided roadway, stormwater improvements, adjustments to utilities, enhanced landscaping, and a new multi-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists.

This project is a Florida Department of Transportation funded Local Agency Program agreement with St. Lucie County.

The utility relocation part of this project has already begun and the construction for the widening project will begin mid February 2010.The estimated time of construction will be approximately 18 months and will continue through June of 2011.

We ask that residents and users of the roadways and area around Walton Road please be patient with any inconveniences as the County proceeds with the enhancements to the corridor. Thank you.  

 
AT&T is currently relocating the utiity poles that are located along the south side of the roadway into the utility easement. Unfortnatley, this will restrict access on the existing walkway along the south side of Walton Road. Please understand that this is temporary and a new 12-foot wide multi-use path is scheduled for construction, and will soon be underway. Please be careful if you are close to the area.
