Proposed Vehicle Miles Travelled (VMT) Based Impact Fee Study

 A VMT based impact fee study is being conducted by Dr. James Nicholas for St. Lucie County. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impacts of implementing a transportation impact fee based upon vehicle miles travelled as a primary measure of the impacts of new development upon the roadway network.

The work being conducted by Dr. Nicholas is anticipated to be completed by early 2011. On September 24, 2010, Dr. Nicholas presented the proposed VMT Based Impact Fee Study at a public information meeting.  Once a draft analysis has been completed, another public information presentation will be held to review the results.
