The pages with the text are a bit small - How do I resize the frames?
The Webpage appears to lock up before the image is shownYou are able to drag each frame (the white lines that appear to separate the webpage into 3 sections) to customize the window. For example you may drag the white line above the Mosquito Control District banner up to have more room for reading the text.
I don't see the webcam imageBefore the actual webcam image is shown on the screen the browser loads the image. Sometimes this makes the browser appear to lock up for roughly 5 to 20 seconds. If it locks up for more than that please make sure your using Internet Explorer 5 or better and close the browser and go back to the page. If that does not help contact webmaster@stlucieco.gov with the full details of what is happening and what type of browser and Internet connection you are using (i.e. 28.8 dialup, ISDN, DSL, Cable modem, AOL )
How do I move the Magnifier on the aerial shots in the Photo Gallery?A limited number of connections to the camera are allowed at one time. Try right clicking next to the camera viewing area and selecting "Refresh" (in Internet Explorer) or "Reload" (in Netscape).
Can I save a picture from the webcam? In order to see the magnifier you must be using Internet Explorer 5.5 as your web browser. The magnifier will start off in the upper left side of the photo. You may drag the magnifier by putting your cursor over the area "Magnifier" and hold your left mouse button down to drag it over the desired area of the photo. By clicking the "+" and "-" you may adjust the amount of magnification.
Why does the webcam have a view time?Yes. If you see something you like that webcam is transmitting you can right click on the webcam image and save the picture to a folder on your computer.
Where do I get Internet Explorer 5+?The way the Oppennetview works with this configuration is it only allows us to have a max of 4 to 6 people viewing the camera at any one time. In order to try to get around the limitation we have set it up so that each person gets a limited amount of time to view the camera.
Also the more people connected to the webcam the slower the images are sent from the Oppennetview.
We are working on getting "expander" software to allow us to have roughly 40 people at one time viewing the camera instead of 4. The expander software should give us the ability to leave the viewing on without having a time out period. We hope to have the expander software implemented by the end of this year.
Internet Explorer is free. It can be downloaded from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.htm
