Camera Help

General Camera Information

The Webcam is a Pelco Spectradome, connected to a Digital Image Mega Chips OpennetView which acts as a web server. The Pelco Spectradome and the OpennetView were provided and installed by Advanced Alarms Service Inc.   The Opennetview is connected to a Bellsouth 128Kbps ISDN line which is then routed to the internet.

The camera control is set up to give control on a first come first serve basis.  The first person to enter the site has control for 10 seconds.

Presets

What are Presets?

Presets are designated area set for optimum viewing.  In other words, we have set the presets to reflect the best possible places to see the precious birds.

When you click on a preset it moves the camera to the area and sets the focus and zoom automatically.

Speed

The speed setting allow you to set how far/fast the camera turns with one click of the directional arrows.  It also indicates the amount of zoom that is applied when hitting zoom in/out.

Left, Right, Up, Down, Zero Controls

These settings simply allow you to control the camera. The camera control is set up to give control on a first come first serve basis.  Though it is set to relinquish control to the next in line after a few minutes.  Zero brings the camera back to its default position.

Zoom

Zoom allows you to get closer to the action or to back up and get a broader view of the area.

Iris Control

Iris control allows you to adjust how much light is being let into the view.  Opening the iris brightens the view, and closing the iris allows less light therefore darkening the view.
