Tuesday, June 7, 2011 - Fort Pierce Library Hosts Exploring Florida's Ancient Pond Cemeteries Lecture June 21

The Fort Pierce Branch Library will host Dr. Rachel Wentz as she presents “Beneath the Surface: Exploring Florida’s Ancient Pond Cemeteries” on Tuesday, June 21 at 6 p.m.

Dr. Wentz, director of the East Central Region of the Florida Public Archaeology Network, will explore how Florida’s early people used natural bodies of water in which to bury their dead and how these amazing sites provide detailed knowledge about past populations. 

The event is free and open to the public.
