Tuesday, December 7, 2010 - Housing Division Offers First-Time Home Buyer and Budget Worksops For December

As a result of being certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a Housing Counseling Agency, St. Lucie County's Housing and Community Services will wrap up its free monthly First-Time Homebuyer and Budgeting Workshops.

The Budgeting Workshop teaches budgeting basics such as how to prepare a spending plan. Classes will be held at the Housing and Community Services Office, 437 N. 7th St., Fort Pierce:

  • Saturday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. (depending on participation)

The First-Time Homebuyer Workshop helps guide participants through the home buying process. Topics include: budgeting, fair housing, the loan process, insurance, home maintenance and more. Classes will be held at the Housing and Community Services Office, 437 N. 7th St., Fort Pierce:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 16 from 6 - 9 p.m.
  • Thursday, Dec. 17 from 6 - 9 p.m.
