Thursday, December 4, 2008 - Queens Island Closed While Crews Remove Exotics

Residents and visitors are asked to avoid using Queens Island Preserve while the St. Lucie County Mosquito Control District staff works to remove invasive, exotic vegetation on the site.

Work crews have begun removing exotic vegetation this week on 40 acres at Queens Island, which is located at 4631 North A1A on North Hutchinson Island. Due to safety concerns, residents are asked to avoid using the preserve for the next two weeks until the work is completed.
