Thursday, November 6, 2008 - Extension Office Accepting Applications For Master Gardener Program
If you enjoy gardening and would you like to help others with their horticulture questions, sign up now for the January session of the Master Gardener program.Conducted by the University of Florida Cooperative Extension in St. Lucie County, the Master Gardener program provides gardeners with the opportunity to improve their horticultural knowledge and skills and then share their experience with the public through organized volunteer activities.
As a Master Gardener, you can help to educate and advise home gardeners in St. Lucie County with the care of house plants, landscapes and vegetables including insect and disease control.
Being a Master Gardener volunteer is fun, interesting and rewarding.
The next training begins Jan. 6. Classes meet every Tuesday from 9 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. for 12 consecutive weeks. The cost is $150. Classes are limited and interviews will be held in December.
