December 3, 2007 - Marine Center Extends Hours Dec. 8

The St. Lucie County Maine Center, featuring the Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit, will be open for extended hours on Saturday, Dec. 8., prior to the Fort Pierce Boat Parade Festival.

Since the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 2nd Annual Christmas Boat Parade Festival at Museum Pointe Park from 4 - 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, the St. Lucie County Marine Center will provide one more venue for families to enjoy until 7 p.m. At 2 p.m. on every Saturday, a Smithsonian staff member provides ''behind-the-scenes'' tours.

The center features nearly 8,000 gallons of marine life that accurately reflect the habitats found inside and around the Indian River Lagoon. In addition, there are many affordable gifts available in the gift shop that would make the perfect present for anyone on your shopping list.
