October 17, 2007 - Grants Applications for Alcohol & Drug Abuse Program Due Oct. 31

The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners are now accepting applications for The Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Treatment and Education Mini-Grant Program for 2007-2008. The applications are due by Wednesday, Oct. 31.

This program is based on Florida Statue 893.165, which allows counties to establish comprehensive alcohol and other drug abuse treatment and education programs, and to create the Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Trust Funds. The trust fund revenues come from assessments collected pursuant to Florida Statute 938.23, and are to be disbursed on an annual basis based on qualification standards established by the Department of Children and Family Services.
