January 25, 2005 - Experience Jazz Week at the St. Lucie County Library
The Fort Pierce Branch of the St. Lucie County Library announces a musical celebration during Jazz Week. During the week of February 7-11, the library will present the "Live Jazz and Brown Bag Lunch Series" from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in front of the library overlooking the beautiful Indian River Lagoon. Enjoy the music of the Fort Pierce Jazz Society and selected professional Jazz musicians while eating lunch. Either bring your own lunch or buy lunch at the event with proceeds going to support future concert events. The concerts are as follows:Monday - The Lew Sanzaro Quintet
Tuesday - The Ryan Larson Quintet
Wednesday - The Ossie Wright Quintet
Thursday - The Peter Dargen Quintet
Friday - The Cole-Porter Sextet
Additionally, on Monday, February 7, the library will feature a film by Jean Bach entitled, "A Great Day in Harlem: the Story and Sounds behind the Most Famous Photo in Jazz History." The movie is free and will begin at 2:00 p.m. And finally, join jazz lecturer, Dr. Marvin Rose on Thursday, February 10 at 2:00 p.m. for a free presentation called "Icons of Change."
