March 9, 2005 - St. Lucie County Centennial Committee to Host Fort Pierce Coffee With the Mayor
Join St. Lucie County Commissioner Frannie Hutchinson and the County's Centennial Committee as they host the Fort Pierce Coffee with the Mayor Event on Friday, March 18 at 8 a.m. at Historic City Hall. Incorporated on July 1, 1905, St. Lucie County is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year and the Centennial Committee will highlight County history at many community events throughout this year leading up to the anniversary party on Saturday, July 2 at the Fairgrounds.At Coffee with the Mayor, residents and visitors can take a trip down "Memory Lane" as the committee presents tales of St. Lucie County from the turn of the century through the decades. The County's Centennial Celebration will be featured in such events as the Port St. Lucie St. Patrick's Day Parade, the Sandy Shoes Festival in Fort Pierce, the ZoraFest! A Homecoming Festival and more. Special events at the Library and the Historical Museum will also be part of the Centennial Celebration.
